Cat. Amateur horses

The Amateur horses category is the first category of Artistic Dressage; it has 2 rider levels: JUNIOR and ADULT

- JUNIOR: minors between 10 and 14 years old.

- ADULT: from 15 years old.

The horse is schooled to Low School level.

It is a horse able to perform lateral movements, jambettes and the Spanish walk, and also able to perform single flying changes.

Whip and spurs are allowed.

PLEASE NOTE: In the JUNIOR category, wearing a helmet is optional during the competition (with parental consent), with no penalty during the performance of the program, but it is compulsory in the warm-up arena.

PLEASE NOTE: a High School movement shown at Amateur level does not mean elimination, but it earns no credit in the score. If it reveals a confirmed horse, the jury moves the pair up to a Pro category, without elimination (articles 5 and 6 of the rulebook).
