Article 2 — The discipline

Artistic Dressage is a discipline in which the horse and rider express themselves through a short but intense program, linking elements or movements from classical dressage or from other riding traditions, performed in time with the music.

Beyond riding technique, the discipline calls for:

  • an artistic sense
  • a musical ear
  • creativity
  • emotion

In short, it means creating an original choreography on a piece of music, and lifting technique into the sharing of artistic emotion.

The artistic expression of the pair must allow an untrained audience to enjoy the program as a genuine dance.

It is the music of the eyes.
