Article 1 — Purpose and scope
These rules set out the conditions of entry to the Artistic Dressage competitions of the Fédération de Dressage Artistique (FDA).
1.1 — TWO KINDS OF COMPETITION
Official events count towards the riders' ranking. Only the FDA may organise them.
Training competitions do not count towards the ranking. They may be organised by a club or an equestrian establishment, subject to the prior agreement of the FDA.
1.2 — TWO FORMS OF STAGING
Online competition: the performance is filmed by the competitor and judged afterwards. Official online events are organised exclusively by the FDA.
Live competition: the pair presents itself before a jury gathered at the venue.
Unless stated otherwise, every article of these rules applies to both kinds and both forms.
1.3 — Entering an FDA competition constitutes acceptance of these rules.
1.4 — Version 2026.1, applicable from its publication on the Federation's website. It cancels and replaces any earlier version. The version in force is the one published on the website.
